This is definitely not a tourist destination, I think. We actually went to Würzburg to meet my cousin’s mother for the day. It was in the middle of her town and my cousin’s. This day was more about reconnecting with family but I will post what pictures I did take. PS my Germany posts are going to be a little out of order. I actually went Koblenz, Nuremberg, Würzburg but I’m posting them backwards because I took less photos that way! I don’t know that it matters except to future me!
I definitely think The Würzburg Residence is WORTH IT! I would highly recommend the guided tour. The palace is one of the most beautiful things I visited in Europe and how quickly they built it!? It almost seems fake or impossible. It was so worth it!
Würzburg is known as wine country and I would recommend it for sure if you like wine, maybe even more than Koblenz. The wine experience was alive and well on Sunday, where locals sat on the bridge, drank wine, and listened to live music. Overall I think Würzburg is definitely worth a day or two! PS the building below is supposed to be the oldest building in the town. McDonalds was going to go in there but the town protested. And the churches (pictured below) are beautiful and worth a visit too! I lit another candle for family and friends (above in yellow).
