Last weekend I met a friend in Big Sky to watch ski joring. What is ski joring? It is skiing (or snowboarding) while being pulled by a dog, motor vehicle, or in the case, a horse. And if you are wondering - no I did not participate. You first need to have a horse (or know someone that has a horse) and secondly it's actually quite dangerous and hard. Yes I ski but you would have to train for this. I am only mentioning this because a bunch of people asked if I participated... it's not really something you just "do".
Where: 320 Guest Ranch, Big Sky, Montana
When: January 2018
The event was held at the 320 Guest Ranch which I linked below. It was lightly snowing throughout the day with the sun sometimes peeking through which made for a beautiful day.
I liked snapping pictures of the jumps and falls. The juniors were actually really good - the slowed down for it and more people finished.
If you see yourself in a picture, feel free to re-use and link my Instagram or Blog for photo credit. I took about 400 pictures so if you let me know what you were wearing I would be more than happy to email you all of the pictures I took. Comment below - you don't have to sign in or contact me. There was a cute half-time show where both kids and adults raced with inflatable horses. The adults were kind of lame and jogged but the kids ran and jumped in the snow. It was cute.
PS I brought the perfect snack with me, my Rowdy Bar! These bars are extremely clean, with only 8 ingredients, packed with prebiotics and Yacón Root. The bars taste delicious and they have a low-glycemic index, are dairy-free, gluten-free, paleo-friendly, and compatible with Whole30. (#ad) I've teamed up with Rowdy Bar to showcase their amazing product; however, as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
